Neuenbürg defeats Albstadt: HSG coach demands more fighting spirit!

An exciting duel in handball! The HC Neuenbürg impressively reported back to the Mazmann of Albstadt on Saturday evening and defeated the HSG Albstadt with 31:25. After a bitter 30: 38 defeat two weeks ago, this was the perfect moment for the new citizens to show their strength. "We really didn't make any clear chances. And then it will be really difficult away," said HSG coach Andreas Wendel after the defeat.

Neuenbürg dominates the second half

The start was promising for Albstadt, which took the lead 2-0. But Neuenbürg could not be shaken off and equalized quickly. The first half was a constant back and forth until Neuenbürg took the lead with 15:13 at halftime. After the break, the shock for Albstadt followed: A 7-1 run of the guests ensured clear conditions (23: 15/41.). The hosts could only operate some cosmetics of results in the final minutes, which Wendel described as a "damage limitation".

The disappointment was great, and the trainer demanded more commitment: "We have to defend harder. More will, more consequence in the end-today it was missing from everything." A look at the next challenge: On Sunday, unbeaten SG Köndringen/Teningen comes to Mazmann. "A brutally good team with really good players," says Wendel. The HSG has to increase tremendously to have opportunities for points!
