KVV and VPE: New tickets to Vaihingen and tariff increases awaited!

A significant change is in the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV): According to a unanimous decision by the local council, the Pforzheim-Enzkreis (VPE) Verkehrsverbund will be integrated into the KVV. The merging of the associations will enable passengers to use KVV tickets to Vaihingen (EnZ) and thus benefit from a variety of new tariff offers.

In addition to the existing shareholders, Pforzheim, the Enzkreis and the state of Baden-Württemberg will strengthen new partners. This means that the city of Karlsruhe must accept a decline in its shareholder share from 52 to 34 percent, but could benefit financially from the merger, since its share of the annual deficit of the KVV, which is an estimated 7.5 million euros, is lower. The next step in this process is to sign a “letter of intent” by everyone involved, followed by a multi -year transition phase for complete integration.
