Wolves conquer Baden-Württemberg: New sightings in the Markgräflerland!
In a shocking incident, two wolves in areas in Baden-Württemberg were spotted in areas that were previously considered wolf-free! The Ministry of the Environment has confirmed that a wolf was spotted in the picturesque wine region of Markgräflerland, south of Freiburg. This male wolf was discovered in Müllheim in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in mid-October. But that's not all-on October 24th, another wolf in Donaueschingen was spotted in the Schwarzwald-Baar district! This means that these two sightings are an alarming sign of the return of the wolves into new territories.
The situation is closely observed by wild animal experts. Felix Böcker from the Baden-Württemberg forest and research institution warns that the wolves in the southwest continue to migrate. In the past few months, several animals have been spotted in the northern Black Forest, and some have even been documented by photo traps. The well -known Wolf GW2672M, who torn a wild animal in September, is particularly worrying. In October he was also responsible for the death of five sheep in Bühlertal - a clear indication of the challenges that the return of these predators brings.
The wolves are back - and they are hungry!
The discussion about the presence of wolves in Baden-Württemberg is becoming increasingly hot. While conservationists celebrate the return of the wolves as a sign of a healthy ecosystem, livestock keepers are faced with the devastating consequences. The cracks of their animals cause great resentment and represent a serious threat to cattle breeding. The question remains: How will society deal with this new reality? The wolves are back and they are hungry!
