Böblingen in concert fever: Unexpected piano art awaits visitors!

On Friday, January 10th, the 27th International Pianist Festival begins in the Böblingen congress hall. The Hungarian pianist Mihály Berecz presents as the highlight of the opening concert.

Mihály Berecz, born in Budapest in 1997, has been showing musical talent since childhood. At the age of six he began to learn violin, followed by piano lessons at the age of nine. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and was awarded numerous prizes, including the gold price at the Manhattan International Music Competition. Between 2020 and 2022 he performed the entire Solo plant by Béla Bartók in a series of eight concerts in the Marble Hall of the Hungarian Radio.

The concert on Friday evening contains works by Joseph Haydn, Claude Debussy and Frédéric Chopin, in addition to Bartók's "Improvisations about Hungarian Farm Songs". The following pieces are planned:

  • Joseph Haydn: "Sonata in F major, Hob. XVI/29"
  • Béla Bartók: "Improvisations about Hungarian farm songs"
  • Claude Debussy: "Concerting south for piano" (first and second issue)
  • Frédéric Chopin: "Piano sonata B minor, op. 3"

The festival focuses on large cycles this year and presents a high-quality sound experience thanks to a new Bösendorfer wing, which is made available by Piano Hölzle.
