Owingen starts broadband expansion: Fast internet for everyone!

A big step for the digital future in the Bodenseekreis! The charming municipality of Owingen was the first of a total of ten communities to successfully catapult itself into the digital age-and thanks to the innovative broadband funding project of the special purpose association Bodenseekreis (ZVBB). The big day was at the beginning of October: the new fiber optic network was officially put into operation and brings fast internet to the previously under -supplied households. A true progress, because many residents had to get along with lame 30 Mbit/s for a long time!

Around 24 months after the groundbreaking ceremony for broadband expansion in Owingen, citizens can finally take a deep breath - and the chaos of slow connections are a thing of the past! The project, the strong backing of the federal and state government through several million euros in funding, is raising the region to the fast lane. Bernhard Schultes, managing director of the special -purpose association, spoke of an “important milestone” for the digital infrastructure, while Mayor Henrik Wengert praised the lightning -fast construction period, despite all the challenges of the weather. The future does not stop here!

But the makers don't rest on their laurels! The next major expansion is already ready: Now the so -called "gray spots" should also be opened up. These are households that can currently reach speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. These additional connections are expected to be put into operation by the end of 2025, which for even more people in Lake Constance means that they can enjoy the fastest internet. The digital revolution has just started - and Owingen is only the beginning!
