Fire brigade commanders strengthen cooperation: Historical conference in Horgenzell

A historical moment for the rescue workers! On September 26, 2024, 130 fire brigade commanders from the Ravensburg, Sigmaringen and Lake Constance district gathered in Horgenzell, district of Ravensburg. This regional conference marks a decisive step in the fire brigade - a real milestone!

The event not only served the exchange of current developments, but also the strategic planning for the challenges of the future. Under the motto "strong together", the commanders discussed central issues such as emergency action instructions and alarm structures. The goal? An optimized, harmonized cooperation in missions and crisis situations!

Unique cooperation is created

The roots of this cooperation go back to 2011 when the control centers of Sigmaringen and Ravensburg released. The connection of the Bodenseekreis followed in 2018, and in 2023 the sponsoring agreement for the integrated control center Bodensee-Oberschwaben was signed. The result is a powerful unit that is based on years of experience and mutual appreciation.

"The flood events in May and July 2024 impressively showed how valuable our cross -district support is," emphasized Dr. Andreas Honikel-Günther, first state official of the Ravensburg district, at the beginning of the conference. Together, forces from Sigmaringen have provided valuable help in the flood areas of Bodenseekreis and Ravensburg.

Strong impulse for future

This innovative approach could even inspire other regions in Baden-Württemberg! The regional conference will take place regularly in the future in order to further consolidate the successful cooperation and to arm the fire departments for future challenges. The participants agreed: With this bundled decentralized performance potential, we can deal with large operations and crisis situations even better!

At the conference, the course for an even more effective cooperation between the emergency services was set. A strong signal for the future!
