Herbert Bader receives a Staufer medal for fire brigade use in Telawi
Herbert Bader, the former commander of the Biberach volunteer fire brigade, was awarded the prestigious Staufer medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg last week! This honor was presented to him by Florian Hassler, the State Secretary for Political Coordination and Europe, in Stuttgart. Bader has made a name for itself through his extraordinary commitment to the fire brigade in the Georgian twin town of Telawi and is a real hero of European exchange!
For over two decades, Bader launched groundbreaking projects as deputy and later as commander of the Biberacher fire brigade. From 2011, he organized the procurement and transport of six fully functional fire engines to Telawi. But that was just the beginning! From 2013 he regularly traveled to Georgia to volunteer training for the fire brigade. He headed numerous training courses by 2018 and promoted the transfer of knowledge between the two cities. He continues his tireless work in Biberach today!
A model for city partnership
The success of Bader's commitment cannot be overlooked! Today the fire brigade in Telawi is one of the best in Georgia. In his speech, Biberach Mayor Norbert Zeidler praised the extraordinary achievements of Bader: "Herbert Bader has made a significant contribution to lifting the fire brigade in Telawi to a new level. His tireless effort is a decisive success factor of our cities.
The Staufer medal is awarded every two years of personalities who are particularly committed to the common good for the common good and European integration. In addition to Bader, seven other outstanding personalities were awarded in the Villa Reitzenstein in Stuttgart. With his commitment, Bader not only beat a bridge between Biberach and Telawi, but also set a strong sign for European cooperation. His merits will be remembered in the region and beyond!
