Tuesday became the scene of a spectacular control on the B30 between Biberach and Laupheim! Police forces from Laupheim and the main customs office Ulm have staged a comprehensive review of the traffic that did not leave anyone unimpressed. Over 26 officials, including ten police officers and 16 customs officials, were in action between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to put the drivers through their paces.
With this impressive control, the focus was particularly on the package drivers and drivers of small trucks from the craft sector. The emergency services had their hands full when they directed traffic roles via the control point. And the result spoke volumes: four drivers were caught under the influence of drugs! The case of a police -known man who tried to get rid of his drugs was particularly explosive. Their fate? Blood samples had to be submitted, a clear call to vigilance!shocking violations and overcharges!
But that was far from everything! Many drivers did not stick to their steering and rest periods, and some even had to secure their loads. A truck driver attracted special attention: he transported a load that was overloaded with a whopping 40 and 92 percent! The shock? His onward journey was strictly forbidden until the cargo was reloaded to other vehicles. And how could it be otherwise? A truck driver from Belarus also had an expired Schengen visa and was pulled out of circulation. But the foreign drivers also had to pay security benefits - the law enforcement officers made it serious!
and so not enough: the investigators of the Ulm customs' financial control examined a total of 39 drivers and their employers. Here not only violations of the minimum wage are suspected, but also illegal jobs. The strict controls only underline the urgency of such missions. The goal? The safety of all road users on the streets! And the police will continue to put on the reins.
