Commerce Margit Leonhardt presented this impressive household at the first reading on Monday in the municipal council and emphasized that the city would also like to shine with investments of almost 69 million euros in 2025. "This plan is correctly out of the frame," said Leonhardt. While other cities fear cuts, Biberach stays in the fast lane!

But the dependence on a few companies carries risks! Leonhardt warned that the city is increasingly dependent on a few companies, which could endanger financial stability. In addition to the record income, the city also expects another 37 million euros from community taxes and 6.1 million euros from other sources. However, expenditure is increasing: 36.4 million euros for the financial equalization levy and 32.3 million euros for the district levy could soon be higher.

Planting the city to put 52 million euros in construction work! This includes renovations of schools and streets as well as important infrastructure projects. But the treasurer warns: "The planned volume brings us to our limits." Despite a surplus of 8.1 million euros, the city has to remove 13 million euros from the reserves in order to implement all projects. "That should remain the exception," warned Leonhardt.

However, the future does not look quite as rosy! Mayor Ralf Miller warned of a "financial damper" from 2026, since the revenue forecasts could not be kept. "We have to expect significant cuts," said Miller. Despite these challenges, Biberach remains optimistic and is planning investments of 302 million euros by 2028.
