Winter onset in Baden-Württemberg: Does the snow come or does it fail?
Stuttgart, Deutschland - In Baden-Württemberg there is a change of weather that causes excitement! The coming days could be shaped by cold and snow, while the first flakes have already fallen in Bavaria. However, meteorologist Dominik Jung von Wetter.net expresses concerns about the forecasts that predict a massive onset of winter. According to the American weather model GFS, the southwest of Germany could be buried under a thick blanket of snow, but young remains skeptical.
"Often the weather models overdo the snow depths," warns the expert. The current calculations do not take into account the still warm earth, which means that the snow may not be left behind. In contrast, the German weather model Icon shows that in Baden-Württemberg there is nothing to be seen from a white splendor. Jung recommends not to adapt to a nationwide winter wonderland because the forecasts vary greatly.
rain and snow in sight
One thing is certain: The dry phase in Baden-Württemberg is over! "It gets wet, no matter what comes down from heaven," explains Jung. By December 1st, considerable rainfall is expected, especially in the Black Forest and Lake Constance, where up to 180 liters of rain could fall per square meter - sometimes also in the form of snow.
The temperatures also remain exciting. A cooling will be expected from November 20, but by November 25, the temperature agent could rise to 5 to 10 degrees. The weather conditions therefore remain dynamic and ensures thrills in the region!
