Board series in Baden-Württemberg: When street signs become laugh!
Board series in Baden-Württemberg: When street signs become laugh!
A curious mess in Baden-Württemberg causes a stir! False street signs with embarrassing typing gliders not only make the citizens smile, but also raise questions about quality assurance. Where "fog cavity" once stood, "fog height" is emblazoned - a mistake that caught the eye of a driver near Sonnenbühl. The district office of Reutlingen puzzles how the decisive "L" was lost and explains that the error may have happened when submitting the order or when printing. A quick solution was found: Instead of exchanging the whole sign, the lettering was simply corrected with a film - inexpensive and effective!
sign chaos in Neckarsulm
But that's not all! In May, diversion signs in Heilbronn caused confusion when Neckarsulm was mistakenly signposted as a "Neckars-Ulm". The city administration had to put up with the ridicule of the citizens, while Mayor Steffen Hertwig noted: "This is the very best city marketing." Another faux pas followed quickly: the Obereisesheim district was renamed Obereisenheim. According to the city, such errors are not uncommon, since time for corrections often lacks. There was also an embarrassing slip in the Neckarsulm pedestrian zone: "Delivery agency" without the important "H" caused a shake of the head.
The costs for such errors can vary. Smaller corrections only cost a few euros, while a complete sign exchange can quickly cost 200 to 250 euros. In a recent signage campaign in the Ravensburg district, the town sign "Sibertatsweiler" was written twice. Despite an error rate of only one percent, this causes plenty of excitement. The city administration has now called on the citizens to report incorrectly labeled signs to avoid future breakdowns. Until then, Baden-Württemberg remains the stronghold of typing errors on Germany's streets!
