In a ceremony awaited in excitement, 490 new master craftsmen from the area of the Ulm Chamber of Crafts were celebrated. These freshly baked masters are now trained specialists who enrich the Region with their skills and are willing to master the challenges of the future. When the craftsmen get up in the morning, treat themselves to a hot shower, turn on the heating and enjoy a roll with sausage, then they have to thank the craft!

The most successful graduates were allowed to accept their master's letters in the Congress Centrum Ulm. Katja Maier, President of the Chamber of Crafts Ulm, praised the courage and commitment of the new masters and called on the opportunities that offer themselves in the craft. With a master's examination in your pocket, all doors are open to you: The majority of graduates come from the areas of car technology, carpenter, electrical engineering and hairdressing. A quarter of the new masters are planning to take the step into self -employment over the next five years - a courageous decision in a constantly changing world!

The Chamber of Crafts also campaigns for an increase in the master premium of currently 1,500 euros in order to make the way to the championship title more financially attractive for all interested craftsmen. This increase in premium is crucial to promote training in the craft and to ensure equivalent access as in studying. Dr. Tobias Mehlich, managing director, said: "We need fair educational conditions so that future talents also have the chance to become masters."

The best masters of 2024 include Tobias Konrad, a master of precision mechanic, as well as Tobias Kling, an installation and heating maker. Many successful craftsmen come from the Biberach and Heidenheim counties, who are now securing the future of craft in the region.
