South Korean young people: new opportunities through German metal training!
Aalen, Deutschland - The Aalen company Mapal, a leading manufacturer of precision tools, has once again promoted exchange with South Korean young people. As part of a program that has existed since 2014, seven young South Koreans visited the IHK education center and Mapal in Aalen to acquire knowledge of metal processing. Five of the young people received two weeks of training to learn modern processing techniques and procedures. Uwe Heßler, head of training at Mapal, emphasizes that the training in South Korea is primarily strong, but the practical skills of modern machines are often missing, which makes the exchange all the more valuable, as is the pressbox reported.
exchange program successfully implemented
In the training center, the South Korean students were trained on modern CNC machines, for example, they were able to create simple CNC programs under the guidance of experienced instructors. Tobias Ilg, a student of the DHBW who supervised these trainees, emphasized that the young people quickly made progress and soon worked on the high-precision six-axis CNC grinding machines that represented the special highlight of their qualification. In addition to the practical training, the participants also received German lessons to improve their communication skills, as in a report from the Swabian Post
In addition, a 15-member delegation from South Korean government officials Mapal visited to find out about dual training and high technology. The representatives of the provincial government of Gyeongsangnam-Do were interested in how Mapal drives innovations in the areas of tool production and training. Mapal has been successfully working on the South Korean market for 25 years and supports the introduction of a dual training system, which enables further internships for South Korean young people at the headquarters in Aalen.
