Aalen's new parking guidance system: less stress, more environmental awareness!

In Aalen, a groundbreaking smart city project called "Incomo" saw the light of day! With the support of the Ministry of Interior, Digitization and municipalities, an innovative parking guidance system was successfully put into operation. The aim is to noticeably reduce the annoying parking search traffic in the city center and at the same time relieve the environment. A real win for all drivers!

The heart of this project is state-of-the-art sensors that collect information about available parking spaces in real time and forward them to dynamic LED boards and the city's geodata portal. Motorists can now specifically navigate to free space, which not only saves time, but also significantly lowers emissions. A real progress for mobility in Aalen!

transferability to other cities

The city administration has installed a total of 32 sensors in cooperation with the Bernard Group, Swarm Analytics and the Urban Software Institute, which enable precise predictions on parking space availability. The results of the project were presented as part of the Baden-Württemberg Automobile Economy Strategy Dialogue and show that the concept is of great interest not only for Aalen, but also for other cities. The findings flow directly into the city's smart city strategy and pave the way for sustainable mobility.

Thanks to this innovative partnership, Aalen has taken a significant step towards more environmentally friendly traffic design. The project impressively proves how technology and cooperation can master urban challenges.
