Aschau am Inn: Property tax reform brings changes for owners!

The property tax Reform is just around the corner, and the municipality of Aschau am Inn has now set the new rates! From 2025 the previous property tax notices will lose their validity, and Mayor Christian Weyrich (CSU) presented the decisive changes. The invoice is simple: measurement amount sometimes the rate of property tax. But that does not mean that everyone stays the same - especially owners of older buildings have to expect disadvantages!

The municipality has already searched 91 percent of the data records and found that there are sometimes serious differences between old and new law. "The property tax notices lose their effects and there is a new assessment basis," explains Weyrich. In order to avoid tax loss, a buffer is included in the new lifting rates. The rate of property tax A rises from 250 to 310 percent, while property tax B is reduced from 250 to 140 percent. A daring step, because too strong reduction could endanger the income!

changes and challenges

The adjustments also have uncertainties: there could still be changes in the property tax assessments that further influence the numbers. "We can adapt our lifting rates every year," emphasizes Weyrich. Farmers in particular could be affected by the reform, since houses of agricultural companies are now assigned to property tax B. Lukas Salzeder (AWG) warns of possible disadvantages for this group.

The municipality has taken an average of 374,000 euros from property tax B in recent years. With the new rate of 140 percent, this could increase to around 395,000 euros. "These are individual fates, but it's about the whole," says Karl-Heinz Jekler (Alliance Aschau). The municipal council unanimously decided on the new lifting rates, which are to be finally anchored in the statutes in December. A first step into a new era of property tax!
