ARD program director Strobl revolutionizes coordinations from 2025!

The ARD is facing a dramatic change! Christine Strobl, the program director, has announced the restructuring of the ARD coordinations as part of her comprehensive reform strategy. As early as January 1, 2025, five instead of the previous numerous coordinations, the fortunes of the community programs will lead the first and the ARD media library. A brave step that could change everything!

"slimmer, more efficient, future -proof" - with these powerful words, Strobl describes the meaning of restructuring. It wants to reduce the complexity of the processes and accelerate the processes. In this new line -up, which has recently been approved by the articles of ARD, each coordination will have its genre in the areas of fiction, entertainment, documentation, current and sport. A challenge that could prove to be decisive for future program design!

new faces, new tasks

The ARD has already made clear decisions: Axel Balkausky remains the clever ARD sports coordinator. Oliver Köhr, tireless editor -in -chief, continues to conduct the Current & Magazine coordination and remains deputy of Strobl. Andreas Gerling assumes entertainment as a coordinator - a role that he wants to fill with creative ideas. Ingmar Cario, which leads to the WDR, will take responsibility for the documentation, while BR program director Björn Wilhelm will direct the fortunes of fiction. All new coordinators have a term of three years and are therefore responsible for bringing a breath of fresh air to the ARD!

Sophie Burkhardt, Channel Manager of the ARD Mediathek, sees this restructuring as a golden opportunity to specifically strengthen the program portfolio and fully pump with relevant impulses. The viewers will look forward to the fresh content and new formats!
