Archaeologists discover centuries -old secrets in Höxter!
Höxter, Deutschland - Unusual finds make archaeologists listen to the bellshuff in Höxter! During the latest excavations, exciting remains come to light that tell stories from the 13th century. Large stones that were once part of walls and paving are visible directly through the fence stitches. These unique discoveries even reveal the outlines of two houses and an astonishingly preserved fireplace, the stones of which are still blackened to this day - after 400 years!
The shard with history
Farm manager Robert Gündchen and Höxter's city archeologist Mahytka are enthusiastic. They have discovered an inconspicuous but historical shard that is dated to the 13th century! This clay vessel is the oldest find of the excavation site and gives a face over the past centuries. Almost 800 years old and yet more present than ever - these finds have the potential to throw a whole new light on the historical development of the region.
The excavation on the bell pathor is not only accompanied by fascination, but also by the speculation about the stories of the people who once lived here. Every excavated piece tells how people designed their everyday life and what secrets from the past come to light.
