In the run -up to Christmas, Alfred Eglhofer, who has been active in Schwechat since 2004, inspires big and small hearts again. The 66-year-old visited various facilities between 4 and 8 December, including the senior center and private households to spread joy and festive mood. The 7th Riga International Textile and Fiber-Art Triennale takes place in parallel to Eglhofer's Nikolaus mission, which will be presented from June 16 to September 17, 2023 in the Art Museum Riga Bourse and in the Museum of Applied Art and Design. Under the motto "Quo Vadis?" 79 artists from 30 countries, selected by an international jury, attract attention to global challenges such as the war in Ukraine, the consequences of pandemic and climate change, according to the museum.at a time when social and geopolitical problems are acute, the Triennale offers a space for critical reflection. Visitors can not only admire the artistic works, but also the texts of the artists who provide deeper insights into the creation and inspiration of their work. The curator Vita Birzaka emphasizes that the works of art specifically address current topics and thus create a feeling of connection. These two events taking place at the same time impressively illustrate the power of tradition and contemporary art.
