Krefeld, Deutschland - The SV Bayer Uerdingen 08 e.V. has exciting news! From January 1, 2025, the association will be known under the new name Uerdinger Swimming Club 08 e.V. At the same time, a fresh logo was presented that symbolizes the future of the association. The round, modern design shows tradition in contemporary colors and is versatile. Another central project of the association is the comprehensive renovation of the 25-meter hall, which has been closed since April 8, 2024 and will be renovated by the end of December 2024. Numerous modernization measures are implemented, including the renewal of bathing and hot water technology as well as the modernization of the changing rooms and sanitary facilities. For this state-of-the-art redesign, an investment volume of over 11 million euros is spent, supported by funding from the federal government and the country, as was emphasized in a contribution on the official club page svbayer08.de . The most important progress includes the assembly of water storage systems with a volume of 80,000 liters each, whereby some delays have occurred in the fountain systems, which should not endanger the completion.

The renovation progresses in two phases. At the end of December 2024, a partial opening of the hall is planned, in which the 25-meter pool and the changing rooms are put into operation. The complete completion, including the new course basin, is scheduled for February 2025. During the closure, club members have the opportunity to train in neighboring swimming pools, including in the Bockum Batzentrum and in the Uerdingen Stadtbad.
