Driving Days in Vienna: Experience the future of mobility up close!
On Friday, the Driving Days started in the Westfield Donau Center in Vienna and immediately attracted numerous visitors. The event that goes over two days focuses on modern vehicle technology, innovative drives and individual advice. The mall is temporarily transformed into a stage for technology, design and innovation. Among other things, the OE24 managing director Alexandra Fellner and the Donaustädter district head Ernst Nevrivy (SPÖ) who supported the event with their visit were present.
Visitors have the opportunity to explore the latest vehicle models of numerous Vienna's top car dealerships, including brands such as Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Nissan, Toyota, Kia and many more. The vehicles were presented in different drive variants, including electrical, hybrid and classic variants. The event not only offers a way to be amazed, but also for interaction, since visitors not only look at the cars, but also get in and test the advantages of the models.
mobility trends and individual advice
Sellers on site offer personal advice and are available to those interested for questions about the model selection and financing. Comprehensive information about leasing options is also provided. Despite the current economic challenges that buyers pose problems, many interested parties showed interest in acquiring a vehicle. More information about future events can be found on Drivingdays.at.
parallel to the Driving Days, there is an increasing interest in electromobility in Europe. According to current statistics, there is a record of 42 million electric cars worldwide, which make up 13.4 percent of new registrations in the European market. China is top dog, where around 7.11 million electric cars were sold in 2024, while Norway has 88.9 percent the highest proportion of electric cars worldwide. In Germany, on the other hand, the number of new registrations of electric cars fell by a quarter in 2024, which is essentially due to the end of BAFA purchase funding.
future of electromobility
Despite the declines, experts forecast an increase in new e-car registrations in the EU by a quarter. The reasons for this are the introduction of new, cheaper electric car models, falling battery prices and new EU rules for CO2 limitation. The currently high proportion of fully electric vehicles, which was 20 percent of new registrations by August 2024, shows the growing acceptance of electromobility in Germany. In addition, the charging infrastructure is becoming more and more denser, with over 90,000 public loading points in the country, although there are regional differences in availability.
Developments in the auto and e-mobility market are of great importance for future transport policy. Innovative concepts such as mobility-as-a-service and auto-subscriptions are increasingly gaining popularity, while autonomous driving is actively promoted. At a time when the automotive sector faces profound changes, the Driving Days in Vienna reflect the growing interest in modern mobility solutions.
