Revolution in breast cancer screening: AI increases early detection by 29%!

A revolutionary study shows that artificial intelligence (AI) significantly improves mammography screening. The Masai study, which included over 105,000 women in Sweden, proves that the use of Transpara®'s AI technology increases the identification rate of breast cancer by impressive 29 %. At the same time, the working load of radiologists reduces 44 %, such as Lifelink Medical , there are significant challenges, especially with regard to data protection and the quality of the data. AI needs large and high -quality data amounts for precise diagnosis. Defects in data security or unbalanced data records can lead to incorrect results. In addition, the "Black Box" character of the AI is a problem because the decisions of the algorithms are not transparent and could therefore endanger diagnostic security.

Another central problem is the legal uncertainty regarding liability for misinterpretations by AI systems. Integration into everyday practice is difficult by unclear billing modalities, especially for smaller practices. There is progress, but the practical use of AI in radiology is still at the beginning, and many questions have to be answered in order to implement the technology safely and effectively.
