Creative posters against Komaslauf: young people watch out!

DAK health has created a new campaign entitled "Colorful instead of blue", which is devoted to alcohol prevention in children and adolescents in the Ostalb district. The initiative is aimed specifically at pupils between the ages of 12 and 17 who can submit their posterities on the subject of intoxication. The closing date for the creative contributions is March 31, 2025. Minister of Health and Social Affairs Manne Lucha has taken over the patronage for this important campaign.

The "Colorful instead of blue" campaign also includes the "Campaign of Glaze", which draws attention to the dangers of alcohol abuse. Data from the Federal Statistical Office show that in 2023 around 9,300 children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19 were treated with acute alcohol poisoning in German hospitals, which corresponds to a decline of 19 percent compared to 2022. Despite this positive development, DAK health underlines the need to continue to clarify the risks of alcohol.

competitive details and prices

Since the start of the campaign in 2010, over 136,000 students have designed posters nationwide against Komaslauf. The “colorful instead of blue” competition also provides cash prizes of around 12,000 euros. After the closing date, the best posters are awarded in all 16 federal states. In June 2025, a federal jury will choose the federal winners from the best country posters. The special prices include the "Special Prize Young Talent" for younger participants as well as a "social media" price for the best pictures with the hashtags #dak health or #Buntstattblau.

Participation in the poster competition requires an online registration. After successfully registering, the participants receive a declaration of participation as a PDF, which has to be printed, filled out and signed by a parent. The finished poster and the signed declaration of participation should be sent to DAK health in the respective federal state with the keyword "Action Bunt instead of blue". The posters can be designed in different techniques such as drawing, painting or photography and must have the dimensions of A2. With collages, make sure that all images are well fastened.

Overall, the prevention campaign "Colorful instead of blue", which is part of the more comprehensive "action glass clear", shows an active approach to clarifying alcohol abuse. The initiative has received numerous awards over the years and is cited as a positive example in the drug and addiction report of the Federal Government. Further information on the campaign and the conditions of participation can be found on the websites of DAK-Gesundheit, such as and dak.de .
