Klimabonus 2024: Last chance of up to 290 euros for 106,500 households!

From March 12th, around 106,500 Austrian households can look forward to an exciting letter - a last climate monus of up to 290 euros! As 5 minutes reported, the new federal government from ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS ensures that this bonus does not return. The reason for this is cost savings that are clearly anchored in the government program. Even around 8,600 people whose bank accounts were closed at the time of the payment will now receive their bonus via a new delivery attempt by letter and voucher. For many this will be the last financial ray of hope!

The distribution of the climate monus takes place by post and the entire two weeks in which delivery runs until the end of March, one could expect it. Important to know: If you are not at home, you don't have to worry because the letter will be kept at the post for three months. If it is not picked up, the bonus is waiting for the return to the Ministry. But no reason to panic! As the Ministry of Climate States explained, the money remains available for three years. How is the climate monus distributed?

The payment varies depending on the place of residence and amounts to up to 290 euros, with children and adolescents under the age of 18 receive half each. This is determined by a base amount and a regional compensation that takes into account the infrastructure of the respective region. In order to increase social justice, the climate bonus from an annual income of more than 66,612 euros is taxed.

It is important to note that the payment is made by the end of March 2025, i.e. should be in good time in order to assert the claims. For example, if you have no documents or a main residence of at least 183 days in Austria in 2024, you will not receive a claim to the climate monus.
