A huge blow against undeclared work! On November 12, 2024, almost 130 emergency services from the Karlsruhe main customs office overflowed the transport and logistics industry in the region. Accompanied by police and federal office forces, massive control was carried out, which could have followed for those affected.

"Our financial control undeclared work regularly carries out industry -specific exams with an increased personnel deployment all year round in order to receive the special preventive character of a high number of exams," said Alina Holm, spokeswoman for the main customs office. The aim is to effectively combat the social acceptance of illegal employment. In this comprehensive campaign, 191 people were asked about their employment relationships, and in 48 cases there were significant indications of possible violations that now result in extensive investigations. The exams are not fun, but can lead to many serious consequences.

In the region, the exams at various FKS locations have proven to be revealing. In Karlsruhe, 46 people were interviewed, which led to the initiation of criminal proceedings on suspicion of illegal stay. In Heidelberg, the officials recognized five violations of 101 surveys, including a person who occurred without any identification papers and with a false name - a criminal behavior that is not simply accepted. Again, the control was of crucial importance to ensure security and the rule of law. In Rastatt, however, the surveys were without legal problems, while in Ludwigshafen four additional investigations were initiated for illegal work.
