The police in Kiel carried out a massive control against traffic violations in the Wik district on Sunday! There was a lot of hustle and bustle from 5 p.m. when the officers of several departments bundled their strength to put an end to the repeated traffic accidents. These lightning -fast actions led to numerous investigations and to ensure several suspicious vehicles!

A hard blow against the traffic offenders: Right from the start, a 17-year-old was stopped who was without a driver's license and stunned at the wheel! The shock continued: another driver, also under drugs and without a valid driver's license, fell victim to the sharp checks of the police at the last minute. The balance sheet was also frightening: four vehicles were ensured because they had been committed with serious offenses. In total, the police received reports about ten vehicles, which were forwarded to the main customs office for re -taxation and customs survey!

Investigations against severe criminals!

The location is alarming! Five people had to answer for falsification of documents, while four more were pulled out of circulation without a valid driver's license. And not enough: a document characterized as 'valid' also proved to be fake! In addition, nine vehicles were not even properly approved, and four of them didn't even have an insurance company! Five cars showed slight defects that have to be remedied in the shortest possible time, or the owners have to expect consequences!

The police quickly recognized the worrying pattern: vehicles, often from EU or non-EU countries, were moved without the necessary registrations in Germany. With the elimination of the exemption for Ukrainian motor vehicles on October 1st, 2024, the problem will be reinforced - many vehicles could soon be on our roads illegally!

With a multilingual information sheet, the population was made clear which obligations the vehicle owners have now. The Kiel police department remains vigilant and also announces that they will continue such controls in the future - for more security on the streets!
