On the third Friday in November, the Cologne children's clinic transformed into a magical reading country, while the blue light authorities, including the professional fire brigade and the federal police, mobilized its "superpowers". Under the motto "Reading the future" we celebrate the nationwide reading day - an action that makes the children's eyes shine and conjures up joy in the hearts of the little patients!

Every year, thousands of children in Germany look forward to being kidnapped into another world by exciting stories. This year, over 50 committed employees from various Cologne operational authorities visited the children's clinic on Amsterdamer Strasse, the Porz Hospital and the Cologne University Hospital. The children's reactions were priceless. Inspection manager Udo Peltzer from the Federal Police Cologne raves: "This campaign is not only a highlight for the children, but also for us!"

They brought parts of their impressive vehicle fleet with them so that the children climb the aerial ladder, sit on police motorcycles and try the blue lights in the patrol car. Dr. Christian Miller, fire department manager in Cologne, emphasizes: "Reading not only brings feel -good effects, but is also crucial for learning language."

The reading hours were a hit and even the clinic staff were enthusiastic about participation. Police Councilor Michael Brockmann emphasizes: "With joy, it fulfills us to give people light and confidence in difficult times." After all, every little patient not only received stories that stimulated their imagination, but also guest gifts and new books that they will remind you of this special day.
