Strong voice for education: parents have to take responsibility!

The support of teachers in Lower Austria is more than just Education - it is about the future of all children! Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, the state chairwoman of the Lower Austria, emphasizes: "Education is the basis for performance, social participation and social advancement. To ensure this, consistent support for our educators is essential." As part of this support, it is required to significantly increase the parental participation to promote your children. Parents who do not meet their responsibility could be confronted with drastic consequences, including fines of up to 2,500 euros. The topic was also taken up in a current call for discussion about mandatory parenting and possible restrictions on family allowance in order to increase the quality of education and to preserve traditions in schools and kindergartens, reports APA-OTS.

New team for autistic children

But the commitment to education does not stop here! From the kindergarten year 2023/24, a special team for children in the autism spectrum will be introduced, according to Teschl-Hofmeister in another report by Meinzör.at. In autumn 2022, a three -semester university course started at the Lower Austria University of Education to train six specialized elementary teachers. These will then help to meet the increasing need for support for children with autism in the state kindergartens. The challenge is that children in the autism spectrum need special help in communication and social interaction.

The new team will provide comprehensive consultations and support offers. This includes the exchange of the integration of affected children, providing materials to promote communication and support for parents' discussions. The first offers will be available from autumn 2023 and can be used flexibly on site, by phone or video. This ensures that the expertise required is quickly and regional, supported by the growing focus on inclusive educational approaches in the region.
