Rundfunkmuseum Fürth: groundbreaking for modern adventure center!

Fürth, Deutschland - An exciting fresh start for the radio museum in Fürth! With the groundbreaking ceremony, the official starting signal for the comprehensive renovation and redesign of the museum was given today. Museum director Karin Heinzler announced that a modern resort for culture and education should be created that “listen to” the exciting topic. History comes alive here!

The radio museum, which has been housed in the former directorate villa of the legendary entrepreneur Max Grundig since 2001, has a moving past. Mayor Thomas Jung described the location as “extremely historical”, but the 76 -year -old building now shows significant signs of aging. The old permanent exhibition no longer corresponds to modern museum standards. In the future, the museum will become a lively, inviting place where visitors can feel comfortable and be entertained. Historical exhibits are not pushed into the background, but cleverly integrated into the new concept.

large plans for redesign

The redesign not only includes energetic renovation of the building, but also an expansion of the entrance area. An extension will house a café, a workshop as well as event rooms and a recording studio. A green roof terrace and a sound garden in the outdoor area promise a unique experience to discover, play and experiment. The Cultural Foundation Fürth, which has already successfully implemented numerous cultural projects, is responsible for the construction work in the context of a heritage law.

The costs for the ambitious project amount to around 12.5 million euros, with around seven million euros come from funding. The completion of the new radio museum is planned for 2026. An exciting chapter for the culture in Fürth begins!
