Political education for everyone: important workshop for schools starts!
Political education for everyone: important workshop for schools starts!
Herrenberg, Deutschland - People with disabilities have been entirely eligible to vote in Germany since 2019. In this context, the upcoming federal elections in 2025 and the state elections in 2026 are of crucial importance. In order to promote the participation of this group in political processes, the state association of more democracy has developed a special workshop that is aimed at teachers. In simple language, this course is intended to bring the topic of political education closer and enable teachers to bring this substance closer to the students.
The participants of the workshop will apply for pupils from five different schools, including the Friedrich Fröbel School in Herrenberg, the Bodelschwingh School and the Winterhaldenschule in Sindelfingen, the Käthe-Kollwitz School in Böblingen and the Karl-Georg-Haldenwang School in Leonberg. This educational offer aims to strengthen understanding of political structures and voting.
Financial support from the Kreissparkasse Böblingen
The financing of the workshop was made possible by a donation of 1000 euros by the Social Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Böblingen. This initiative is the result of an idea by Reinhard Hackl, the former representative for people with disabilities in the district. At the symbolic handover of the check to Gabriel Gaa of more democracy e.V., Steffen Killian, the division manager of private customers Leonberg-Sindelfingen, emphasized the importance of such projects: "We are happy to support the project because today political education is more important than ever!"
Gabriel Gaa noted that "with this workshop more people should be able to participate political participation". This commitment shows how important it is to include people with disabilities in political decision -making processes and convey the necessary knowledge to actively use their right to vote. The image of the check handover documents the significant cooperation between the schools, the organizers and the supporters of this initiative.
In a time when political education includes central issues such as elections and participation, the focus on an inclusive and barrier -free education becomes increasingly important. To close the gap between different social groups in terms of political education is a step in the right direction to promote real and just democracy. This initiative is only an example of how targeted educational measures can strengthen the political commitment of people with disabilities, which is ultimately an advantage for the entire society.
These developments are in line with the goals of more democracy that are committed to ensuring that every person, regardless of their prerequisites, has access to educational offers that enable them to actively participate in political processes. Particular attention is paid to the needs of groups that are often marginalized.
Overall, the support from the Kreissparkasse Böblingen is an encouraging sign of the importance of socially responsible action in the economy. The initiative not only promotes political education, but also strengthens social integration by reducing barriers and making people with disabilities audible.
These developments can serve as a positive example for other regions that want to create similar programs. Preparations for the upcoming elections can therefore be seen as a real time in order to raise awareness of political participation and to give people with disabilities the information and tools that they need to hear their voice in society.
