Kaufbeuren starts educational offensive for sustainable development!

Kaufbeuren, Deutschland - In Kaufbeuren, the future of education will be redesigned! With the ambitious funding project "Educational Commune", the city starts an exciting era of education for sustainable development (BNE). The start took place at the 9th Kaufbeurer education forum, where over 60 committed representatives from education, politics, business and civil society came together to set the course for a sustainable educational landscape.

Mayor Stefan Bosse summed up: "Our world faces big challenges." Topics such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and social inequalities are not only global problems, but also noticeable on your own front door. The participants of the forum experienced an inspiring impulse lecture by Dr. Rosário Costa-Schott, an expert in sustainable development, followed by intensive workshop discussions in which concrete ideas and ongoing projects were discussed.

Together for sustainable education

The goal of this kick -off event is clear: educational institutions should be sensitized to the importance of the ESD. In the future, network meetings will be planned in the form of round tables in order to further deepen educational work in this area. The project "Education 4.0 - sustainable, networked, digital" is generously supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as the European Union and promises to make Kaufbeuren a pioneer in sustainable education. Further information on the project is available at www.aufbeuren-aktiv.de.
