Anniversary year 2025: Carinthia remembers - memory and education united!
In 2025, Austria commemorates numerous historical key moments that shape national awareness. Today, on May 29, 2025, the important anniversaries are reminded of both the past and the future of the country. Andreas Mölzer, chairman of the Carinthian home service and columnist of the "Krone", emphasizes the special importance of this anniversary year. It has passed 80 years since the end of the Second World War, 70 years since the conclusion of the state contract, 30 years since joining the European Union and 105 years since the Carinthian referendum, which represent all decisive turning points in the history of Austria ( Krone ).
The importance of these quarter century is also underlined by the governor Peter Kaiser. He emphasizes that at a time when radicalism and extremism are becoming more important again, the democracy and teachings from history are particularly important.
