Equal opportunities for children: Ravensburger Foundation starts powerfully into the year

The Ravensburg Children's Foundation has been committed to the equality of opportunities for children and adolescents in the Schussental since its foundation in 2008. Despite the economic strength of the region, numerous families are affected by poverty, which has significant negative effects on the development of children. Affected areas are in particular education, health, living, participation and mobility.

In the new year, the foundation plans to open prospects for children through various targeted offers. A central project is the "Reading Worlds" initiative, in which volunteers regularly attend kindergartens and primary schools to read stories. The aim of this project is to promote language skills, imagination, concentration and enjoy reading. In addition to the reading project, school support and strengthening of self -confidence are offered by sponsorships under the program "Lynx - Learning and opportunities".

diverse offers for support

Another important project are the "opportunities for chances". This initiative enables financially weak families to participate in excessive activities in areas such as music, riding or sport. To promote creativity, the children have the "tinkering" available, a creative room and a workshop to try out.

In addition, the foundation places great importance on movement funding, which is why free swimming and bicycle courses are offered under the motto "Fit for Swimming" and "Fit for Cycling". These activities should contribute to the development of essential skills and self -confidence. Funding projects in music and theater are organized together with local music schools and theater educators in order to facilitate access to cultural education and to expand their expressions.

The Ravensburg Children's Foundation rely on the support of the population, be it through donations or volunteer work. A thematic context is for discussion about education and social inequality in Germany. According to an article by the Federal Center for Political Education, education is viewed as a central factor for social justice. However, it is questioned whether educational inequality is really the main cause of social polarization. Education alone is considered insufficient to eliminate social inequality because it often reproduces existing inequality structures. A more comprehensive solution to poverty requires additional measures to improve social infrastructure and to distribute resources in society, as shown in an article from the [Federal Center for Political Education .
