Citizen participation in Verden: Apply now for district advisory boards!

In December 2023, the city council of Verden decided to form four district councilors in the core city. This step aims to increase citizen participation and strengthen democracy on site. The administration has therefore called on interested citizens to apply for voluntary membership. This was also supported by the distribution of flyers to households. The application period ends on January 31, 2025.

The district advisory boards are to be formed in the areas of rivers, Nikolaiviertel, Verden-Ost and the core city. Each advisory board can consist of up to nine members and is quorate from five members. The members who are appointed for a period of three years must not sit in the city council or be employed by the city of Verden.
