Metzler resigns as the ÖSV coach of the ski jumpers-reasons unveiled!
Vorarlberg, Österreich - Bernhard Metzler is no longer a coach of the Austrian ski jumpers. The 45-year-old Vorarlberger decided to put down his coaching position at his own request. As a reason for this resignation, he mentions the lack of energy that he has been missing recently in order to continue to be able to master the challenges of the coaching profession. Metzler describes the decision as anything but easy, but emphasizes that the right moment for this step is now.
Under his direction, the ÖSV ski jumpers were able to celebrate remarkable success. This includes an outstanding triumph in the Nations Cup, numerous victories and podium places as well as two medals at the last Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim. These achievements show the high level that the team reached under his leadership.
The future plans of Bernhard Metzler
In a personal explanation, Metzler expresses his gratitude for the support he found out during his time at the ÖSV. He is convinced that the team will continue to perform at a high level without it. The search for a successor for the experienced trainer should be tackled promptly.
It remains unclear whether there will be a sporting future for Metzler. However, he does not rule out to return to work one day. The developments of the next few months could be crucial for him, even if he currently wants to treat himself to a break from the coaching profession.
