Gascht: Top training for the stars of tomorrow in tourism!

The Gascht in Vorarlberg inspires with an innovative training model that is considered an admission ticket to the exciting world of gastronomy and hotel industry. "I am fascinated by the particularly family approach between teachers and students," explains Niklas Meusburger, a student of the institution. The training, which lasts four years, also includes special modules such as the boysmmelier, which offer the graduates excellent career opportunities. Cooking instructor Romain Dubuc emphasizes that many students get into Sterner restaurants after their completion and the demand for qualified specialists in the industry are steadily increasing. According to vorarlberg.orf.at over 80 percent of the graduates have already found a job in Vorarlberg.

practical training for future top forces

A special feature of the Gascht is the practice -oriented approach. The students complete full -time operations in one of the 80 training companies in the past year and a half, which gains them practical experience without having to commit themselves to a profession at an early stage. The director Nicole Okhowat-Lehner emphasizes the importance of quality standards for the training companies that have to be certified annually. "We rely on quality at all levels," she says. This practical relevance and the possibility of acquiring valuable additional qualifications such as bartkeeping or decoration make the graduates particularly attractive for the industry.

The increasing demand for training means that waiting lists are created for both young people and companies. At the same time, numerous schools in Vienna and experiences from abroad, like Lausanne, showed great interest in taking over the successful concept of the GASCHT, as Okhowat-Lehner reports. "The interest in tourism training has grown again since the Gascht was founded," added Ellen Nenning from the Hotel Gams in Bezau. This is reflected in a variety of inquiries from top hotels and educational institutions. The Gascht not only trains students in the hospitality industry, but has also established itself as an important player beyond the borders of Vorarlberg, as the developments show.
