Future visions for Huchings Roland Center: Students present ideas!
in Huchting, Bremen, the Roland Center is the focus of two significant developments that ensure a breath of fresh air in the district. First of all, students of the Urban Design course at the Jade University of Oldenburg presented their visions for the future of the Roland Center, such as the Weser-Kurier reported. The ideas range from a renaturation of the sealed areas to new life and living concepts to a green "Ecopark", which is supposed to transform the center into a green oasis. The proposals also include concepts that increase the quality of life and promote a mixture of living space, business and leisure activities. Numerous plans have already been presented to the Huchtinger Committee on Building and Urban Development, which praised the innovation potential of the suggestions.
At the same time, there are extensive renovation measures that are to modernize the Roland Center. As the Kreiszeitung reported, a total of 2.5 million euros flow into the renovation to create a friendlier ambience. The planned changes include modern lounge, lightening the area and modernizing the toilet facilities. These measures are intended to increase the quality of stay of visitors and create space for new tenants. The remodeling work has already started and center manager Frank Trompeter expected the new shops to be able to open until autumn.
Together these initiatives form an exciting framework that could make the Roland Center both a center of urban life and an attractive shopping destination in Huchting. The ideas of the students for the future design also promise sustainable and integrative development of the district.
