City of Füssen plans to complain against controversial refugee accommodation!

In a surprising turn, the district office of Ostallgäu of the city of Füssen granted the building permit for refugee accommodation on Hiebelerstrasse. The Mayor of Füssen Maximilian Eichstetter expressed sharp criticism and described the decision as a "real slap in the face" for the city, which had previously spoken out against the project. In a tense reaction, a lawyer was immediately hired and the city council decided to file a lawsuit against the controversial approval notice from the administrative court. A review of the approval by the government of Swabia is also sought. This is done in the context of a further legal dispute against the Free State of Bavaria regarding the redistribution of refugees in the Ostallgäu district, especially in Füssen, where the capacities are already at the limit, as the Allgäuer Zeitung reported.

There is also excitement in the city of Burgau about an upcoming building permit. The Günzburg district office has contacted the city to drive the construction of an apartment building. However, this happens without the community agreement, which leads to outrage among the city councils. At the last meeting of the construction and environmental committee, city architect Werner Mihatsch expressed the opinion that the city must be "consistent" and is considering starting legal steps against the decision of the district office. The city council will deal detailed in the upcoming meeting with the possibility of a lawsuit, reports the Augsburger Allgemeine .
