Scandal in Leipzig: Fake posters cause excitement in the Lene-Voigt-Park!
In the Leipzig Lene-Voigt-Park, a poster ensures outrage among the residents, which announces the creation of 239 parking spaces in the park. The resident Kathrin Arnold critically comments and describes the project as "brain burned". Fred Rauch, another resident, even thinks the situation is a joke. The resident Christina Lohr also discovered numerous spelling mistakes on the poster and doubts that it comes from the official side, i.e. the city.
The poster that is anchored with iron bars in the ground is not the only of its kind. Another poster on the railway road announces the construction of a "Starbucks" branch, where there is currently a building gap. Interestingly, both posters state that the projects were approved by the city of Leipzig, especially by the Office for Building Regulations and the Preservation of Monuments. However, the town hall denied both construction projects as "fake". A spokesman for the town hall explained that the authors of the posters are being investigated, the identity and motifs of which are previously unknown.
residents react concerned
While the residents critically obscure the poster, Katharina Langner brings a possible motivation for publication into play: she speculates that the poster should draw attention to the parking problem in the Lene-Voigt Park. This assessment also shares Christina Lohr, who confirms that there is a lack of parking spaces in particular in the evening. Katharina Arnold decidedly rejects to seal the park because it is considered a green oasis in the city. The police have so far not commented on possible advertisements or investigations.
In another context, the conversion of Prague Straße at the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig is controversial. The city of Leipzig announced the project three weeks ago and both critics and supporters commented on the project. The CDU parliamentary group in the city council criticizes per train because of its attitude to outdated traffic policy premises. The city council has already voted for the approximately 13 million euro project, which provides for a widening of the tracks, which will lead to a reduction in car lanes.
Alternatively, two new bicycle traces are to be set up. Pro Bahn warns of possible financial consequences for the Leipzig transport companies (LVB) if the project is not realized. It is also planned that XXL trams will run on Prague Straße when the city council resolution takes effect. IHK President Kristian Kirpal has criticized communication on the project and demands that traffic safety must be a top priority. Matthias Forßbohm from the Chamber of Crafts suggests exposing the coordination in the city council until a compromise is developed. The IHK also criticizes the fact that the effects on commercial traffic have not been examined or communicated. The Next city council meeting will be decisive for the development of the project.
