Milestone in Ternitz: 42 subsidized rental apartments are imminent!

In Ternitz/Pottschach, the Mödlinger building cooperative may have made significant progress in building new rental apartments. The construction work on the residential complex at Weberistrasse 2c is currently developing. Three houses are already complete and have been obtained. For the last two structures, the roof of which was recently set, a same celebration took place, which is celebrated as an important milestone. These new, funded apartments should be ready for occupancy by autumn.

Rental prices between 10 and 11 euros per square meter are extremely cheap compared to the free living market. The apartments vary in size from 53 to 92 m², with the ground floor apartments over their own gardens and the upper floors over balconies or terraces. All units are built in massive construction and equipped with modern district heating and underfloor heating.

project "Sophie 7" in Vienna

In another important residential project, the same celebration for "Sophie 7" was recently celebrated on the site of the former Sophiospital in Vienna-new building. Here, the developers WBV-GPA and Socialbau AG are working on the construction of 176 subsidized apartments, while Wiener Wohnen provides an additional 46 community apartments. The completion of the overall project is planned by the end of 2025, as [wbv-gpa.at] (https://www.wbv-gpa.at/lebenfeier-7-meilenstein-fuer-powered-wohnen-mitten-in-wien

The areas of the project extend over approx. 1.3 hectares and include not only apartments, but also shops, cultural and leisure -oriented institutions, a kindergarten and a meeting point for seniors. The existing historical building fabric is to be integrated into a modern living concept, which, according to Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaál, combines the renovation with new building. District head Markus Reiter puts the importance of the affordable living space in the foreground.

sustainability and quality of life

The project "Sophie 7" is seen as a model for inner -city living and is intended to offer high sustainability and urban quality of life. Michael Gehbauer from WBV-GPA emphasizes the sustainable energy supply through district heating and photovoltaic system. The facade is green to reduce heat and dust loads. In addition, certification is sought according to climate-active and green pass standard.

The subsidized rental apartments have already been completely assigned, and versatile uses are planned, including gastronomy, pop-up stores and co-working spaces. A mobility point with sharing offers for electric cars, e-bikes and cargo bikes is integrated into the concept, in addition to the creation of a publicly accessible park as a local recreation room.

In this context, the ABG (General Building Society) would like to point out that in the case of technical disorders or damage, the danger to humans or buildings is available. This can be reached around the clock and should be contacted by phone in emergencies. This includes the urgent message of damage such as failure of the elevator systems or heating problems (abg.de).
