Internet fraud: lost 300,000 euros for school construction in Hagenbrunn!
The municipality of Hagenbrunn in the Korneuburg district has lost almost 300,000 euros to Internet fraudsters, as first the "Falter" . This was done as part of a elementary school construction project when a fraudster spent out as a community employee and sent an invoice to the commissioned construction company. The supposed employee, who acted under the name "Sarah Solinger", wanted to know which payments were still open. When the company called the sum of around 293,000 euros, the fraudster pretended to be an employee of the construction company. As a result, the money was transferred to an Italian account instead of the commissioned company. The public prosecutor's office in Korneuburg has initiated investigations into severe fraud and money laundering, and a request for legal assistance was asked to ask the account holder.
at the same time another building scandal shakes the industry. The Munir Music Bau GmbH is currently facing the Berlin district court. The managing director already showed himself comprehensively on the first day of the trial and describes the dark reality of the construction industry, in which social security contributions and taxes were evaded through a construct. Between 2016 and 2020, the company generated sales of 34 million euros, presuming 15 million euros in taxes. The company's employees are said to have worked partially or completely unannounced. Due to the high demand for workers in the industry, the construction company is dependent on undeclared work, as the managing director grants.
These two incidents illustrate the alarming practices in the construction industry, which is characterized by fraud and illegal employment relationships. While the investigation in Hagenbrunn continues and the mayor Michael Oberschil is waiting for the results of the authorities, the case of Munir Music Bau GmbH will be another example of the difficulties of the industry.
