Historical treasures: Discoveries from Maisach's community archive unveiled!

In the latest edition of the Meisaha, published by the History of the History of the municipality of Maisach, valuable treasures from the community archives were presented. In particular, a historical photo from 1857, which shows the teacher Kasimir Führer, stands out. According to Süddeutscher Zeitung was the daguerreotype, which was released by Louis Daguerre in 1839 was, at that time innovative procedure that made it possible to have a cheaper and high -quality photography compared to painting, but also had health risks for the photographers.

The exact technology used when the photo was taken is unclear. Professional restoration is required to open the silver -plated copper plate. The image of Kasimir Führer, who was born in 1786, illustrates the historical depth of the region. He had the Maisach 65 estate since 1828, now known as Hauptstraße 18, and handed it over to his daughter and her son in 1856. In addition to this historical find, remnants of a Celtic settlement were discovered during archaeological excavations in Gernlinden, which included post pits, 36 houses, 24 fountains as well as used ceramics and other artifacts.

additional historical insights

The edition also deals with the history of the Huttenloher family, which has been demonstrated in Württemberg since the 15th century. Andreas Huttenloher acquired an estate in Maisach in 1649. In particular, his descendant Valentin Huttenloher added a shoe store in 1869 and modernized it for generations, most recently in 1990 by the sixth Josef Huttenloher.

Another historical sub -article describes the limestone sandwerk in Überacker, which was documented by Stefan Schader. Here Anton Bernhardi developed a procedure for cheaper brick production in 1856, which was significant until the brick production was closed in 1975. The bricks were used in the construction of the club's home of the footballers and for the expansion of the church in Überacker.

The publication "Meisaha - Issue on the municipal history", which in 2024 deepens the municipal history on 72 pages, is available in the town hall and in shops in Maisach.

In a further context, the Daguerreobase project reports on the importance of the Daguerreotype. It is a public platform that collects information about daguerreotypes in Europe and is dedicated to promoting the dealings with these historical photographs. The project is carried by a consortium from 17 partners from 13 European countries, and information about this can be found on the website www.daguerreobase.org . A Facebook page also offers current content and the exchange on the subject of daguerreotype: Europe and daguerreotype Association , as in another report on Issuu explained.
