In an exciting turn in the building history of the Brenner base tunnel, the “Sillschlucht” was successfully completed on in early December 2024 . With a total order of 59.5 million euros , the project was carried out by porr bau GmbH Kematen and successfully completed within the specified construction period of 52 months . The completion of this decisive section of the Brenner Basist tunnel is a great success for the project company BBT SE, whose board members, Martin Gradnitzer and Gilberto Cardola , highlight the importance of the portal structures. "They give the infrastructure project a unique and distinctive face," explains Gradnitzer, while the renaturation of the outdoor area is already underway, so that the hiking trails from spring 2025 should be accessible again.
