Scandal about real estate transactions: Control of the medical association in criticism!
The political waves are high: the green MP Nina Tomaselli criticizes the supervision of the Vienna Medical Association and the controversial real estate transactions of the Chamber's welfare fund. In a new report by the Court of Auditors, serious defects in control by the MA 40 were revealed. It is about a lack of transparency and unclear responsibilities for real estate transactions worth several million euros. Tomaselli criticizes that a review of a real estate deal was not over 344 million euros, while a smaller purchase of over 80 million euros was only examined more precisely due to critical media reports. In her opinion, this represents a dubious approach to control activities that urgently needs to be reformed, as the APA news agency reported.
But that's not all: The European Central Bank (ECB) has targeted the banks that have given loans to the Signa Holding of René Benko. These steps could have far-reaching consequences, such as "https://zackzack.at/2023/10/raiffeisen-und-benko-signa-toxische-schafts relationship"> Zackzack . The Raiffeisen group, which has long been linked to Benko, faces a potential credit risk of around one billion euros. Tomaselli has now asked the finance minister to provide more precise information about the financial interdependencies and asks whether the Raiffeisen banks are exposed to an increased danger based on these business relationships. This request emphasizes the close relationship between Raiffeisen and Signa, possibly known as "toxic", which has come into focus due to high debt loads and corruption suspects by Benko.
The problem is increased by ongoing investigations by the economic and corruption prosecutor who works against Benko. In addition, Bafin, the German financial supervisory authority, could soon intervene. In the midst of all these difficulties it becomes clear that the political and legal situation around the Signa Holding could also have a significant impact on the affected banks.
