In 2025, many Austrian families will receive more money through increased family allowances, as recently reported. Thanks to an increase of 4.6 percent, the amounts will increase, ranging between 138.40 and 200.40 euros, depending on the age of the child. The payment of family allowances usually takes place on the 6th of each month, but Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays can lead to postponements, as the Ministry of Finance explained in response to a request from 5 Minutes. These payments are usually made on the 5th of the month and are therefore visible on the accounts the next day, the 6th. However, this does not mean that the money arrives everywhere and always on time, as bookings depend on the respective banks.
Payout dates in detail
For January 2025, due to the necessary work at the turn of the year, family allowance will only be allocated on January 8th and will then be visible in the accounts of those entitled from January 9th. The expected payout dates for the following months also depend on the days of the week. In the months of February, March, May, June, August and November, withdrawals are likely to be made on the 6th, while in October the money can be expected on the 7th and in April, July, September and December on the 8th.
