Kickl rages: Banks pay less than the pensioners!
In a current interview with OE24.TV, the FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl vehemently commented against the budget of the Austrian government. He describes it as "Mogelpack" and criticized that banks would have to contribute less to finance the savings package than retirement. This statement makes it clear that Kickl wants to direct economic responsibility more to the financial institutions, while they continue to appear favored compared to other social groups.
Kickl said that the FPÖ tried to avoid a deficit procedure in the failed negotiations with the ÖVP. Against this background, he emphasized that the increase in health insurance contributions for pensioners was not part of the agreement. In a sharp attack, Kickl addressed his displeasure to the ÖVP and confronted finance minister Brunner, whom he described as the “biggest balance sheet”.
political responsibility and future visions
The FPÖ brought the banking into play, according to Kickl, a measure that would not exist without its initiative. Kickl also claimed that this post would have been significantly higher if the FPÖ had been in power. With regard to the debts of Austria, which amount to 400 billion euros and could increase by another 82 billion euros, he said that the current budget was inadequate. Kickl wants to act as Chancellor to relieve the suffering of the population.
When asked about his role in parliament and 827 inquiries about Corona, Kickl replied that these were necessary to obtain written information, but this is criticized by the ÖVP. He vehemently defended the inquiries and continues to plan further investigations into Corona policy, although only one U-committee is possible per year. In his opinion, the Christian Pilnacek case should also be examined closely.
In addition, he rejected the statements of a German social scientist who regarded the FPÖ as the case for the protection of the constitution. Kickl manifested that every day under the current federal government was a worse for Austria. Also on the possible candidacy for the Federal President election in 2028, he reserved and emphasized that he had not yet thought about it. His primary goal remains to become a folk chancellor.
Foundation and financing of political parties in Austria
The foundation of political parties in Austria is fundamentally free and is regulated by the
The statutes of a party must contain essential content, such as information about the organs of the party and their authority. With regard to transparency, all parties are obliged to publish their statutes on their website. The BMI leads a public list of parties that contain the name of the parties and the date of depositing the statutes. The status of a political party only arises with the deposit of the statutes at the BMI, while state institutions cannot make any binding decisions about the recognition of a group as a party. These regulatory conditions clarify that the establishment and financing of political parties in Austria are clearly structured, but still offer scope for every group as long as they adhere to the legal requirements.
