Explosive crime: Austria is haunted by ATM sprangers!

An alarming wave of ATM sprinkles currently shakes Austria and causes excitement among authorities and citizens. This year there were already twelve incidents in which ATMs were blown up by explosive material. The perpetrators act extremely professionally: they blow up the machines and escape with the captured cash in highly motorized vehicles, mostly Audis. This unprecedented series and the increasing number of explosions represent a significant challenge for the police, which now assumes at least five different gangs that are active throughout Austria. Investigations show that the perpetrators are mostly Dutch origin and move in groups that are obviously well organized, such as reported.

structured procedure and high damage

The serious difference to previous explosive methods is that the perpetrators no longer use gas mixtures, but attach explosive packages directly to the machines. This means that not only the machines, but also the surrounding structures are massively damaged. An example of this is the ATM at Korneuburg station, where the perpetrators caused enormous damage to property without any prey. The police do not rule out further explosions, which is particularly worrying due to the currently active gang structure. As oe24.at , the banks can currently only counter the robbery, except for a few machines in the night and to go out in cash secure.

How the situation continues to escalate remains to be seen, but the increasing tendency of the ATM sprinkles shows that crime has reached a worrying level in Austria. The steadily growing number of incidents could soon lead to a new dimension of organized crime, which is of the utmost importance for both citizens and the security authorities.
