Surprise at the weekend for the rail travelers in Lower Saxony! Deutsche Bahn unexpectedly activated the new electronic signal box in Kreiensen, which has significant consequences for regional traffic. Fortunately, the first metronome trains of the RE2 line can once again drive their usual route without diversion, which relieves the passengers extremely after numerous timetable changes and a previous rail replacement traffic between Hanover and Göttingen. The sudden start left timetable information in the unclear and ensured that some travelers in Hildesheim waited in vain for their train.

Not all routes are already released. The connection between Hameln and Elze remains blocked until full commissioning, which is planned for December 23. This delay was originally caused by a damaged bridge and the time -consuming modernization of the signal box. The Transdev company is also waiting for the S4 line affected in the Hanover area, while test drives for this route are planned, as the Deutsche Bahn noted in a further message.
