Connect new light rail network: Bonn and Cologne - that's how it will be faster!
The new light rail network for Bonn and the region takes shape! As the municipal press office announces, the city council has decided on an optimized network for the light rail lines between Bonn, the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis and Cologne. The implementation of the new lines in the timetable change in December 2026 is planned. The aim is to increase the punctuality and effectiveness of traffic. Line 16 in particular is shortened to minimize delays and improve the connection to Bonn Hbf. The newly planned line 66 will also create an appealing connection between Tannenbusch and Bad Honnef. Line 67 is said to serve as the main connection between Siegburg and Bad Godesberg, while the clocking is to be increased to five minutes during the main traffic times, such as GA.de emphasized
But that's not all! In order to further promote mobility for citizens, the SWB offers attractive subscriptions. With a subscription, passengers benefit from generous discounts compared to individual tickets and can do something for the environment at the same time. The subscriptions are easy to use: You will receive your ticket comfortably home, which is debited monthly and is valid for at least 12 months. Another advantage is the transferability of many subscriptions, which makes it easier to take friends or family members on trips. In addition, the environment is spared because the use of bus and train gets less CO2 into the atmosphere, such as swb-busundbahn.de emphasized.
The combination of these new light rail connections with attractive subscription offers could significantly improve the traffic situation in Bonn and the surrounding area and offer citizens more flexible, cheaper and more environmentally friendly mobility. In the coming years, citizens can hope for a significant improvement in their mobility opportunities.
