An exciting innovation for commuters and tourists: The new S-Bahn line S11 between Merseburg and Querfurt will be officially inaugurated next weekend. The S-Bahn Central Germany sets an important sign, because for the first time, an S-Bahn line in the region is not operated with electric, but with diesel railcars. It is particularly noteworthy that the S11 will replace the previous regional railway line RB78 and will offer three trips per hour between Merseburg and Halle from December 15th. The train now takes between 55 and 59 minutes for the approximately 50 -kilometer route and serves more than a dozen stations.
