Münster, Deutschland - Münster (NRW) - alarm level red for travelers! The Deutsche Bahn has announced a two -week blocking of the route between Münster and Hamm, which will come into force from Monday at 9 p.m. By December 14th at midnight, the section between Münster Hauptbahnhof and Münster-Hiltrup will be closed to extensive construction work.

On a distance of almost three kilometers, there are massive work: 5000 thresholds and 6000 meters of rails are replaced! For commuters and travelers, this means: train failures and diversions are inevitable!

In regional traffic, the lines RE7 as well as the RB69 and RB89 are affected. buses take over the rail transport between Hiltrup and the main train station in Münster. Those who are dependent on the train must be prepared for longer travel times.

But there are also significant changes in long-distance transport: The trains of the IC line Münster-Dortmund-Siegen-Frankfurt are redirected, and the stop in Hamm is completely no longer necessary! Some trains on the line are diverted between Münster and Witten, which brings additional inconvenience for travelers.
